*{[FrankenMuse...An Explanation]}*

I know, I know...FrankenMuse?  What a weird name for a blog.  (A weird name for anything for that matter.)

Let me take you on a little journey.

As some of you may know, I've had writing blogs before, but never under my own name.  (Which is Kimberly Jones, btw - nice to meet'cha!")  I've had blogs under a couple of pen names  - Jordin Karrow, Kiera Bryant, and a couple of others.  I did this because I was never comfortable writing under my own name.

I've had a hard time pinning down the specific story I'm writing.  I have SO many ideas.  SO MANY it doesn't even make sense.  Basically, let me walk you through what the journey to this point.

Back in 2007, I did a VERY detailed outline for a five-book series called The Faerie Tale Chronicles.  That series is very near and dear to my heart, but I didn't feel that it was a rich enough world.  So, I decided I'd add to it.  Well, that slowly led to another series called The Sanguine Chronicles.  (Clearly I like the word "chronicles" lol.)  The main difference between The Faerie Tale Chronicles and The Sanguine Chronicles is that Faerie was a Young Adult Fantasy, while Sanguine is Paranormal Romance (with a high erotic factor…so not safe for the kiddies).   Basically, Faerie and Sanguine are on two completely different ends of the target audience spectrum.  As time has gone on, Faerie and Sanguine have come together to create an immense world with an intricate system of checks and balances, societies, governments, laws, and beings from all across the lore.  The problem?  I still don’t know which genre to write for.  I LOVE Paranormal Romance, but a lot of what’s out there is just romantic fluff.  If I write Paranormal, I want to write something that will be bigger than that genre.  The question is…is that safe enough to get published.  Then I worry – should I be worried about getting published at this point.  I mean nothing’s really been written.  Shouldn’t I just focus on getting it written?  Well, yeah…but NO ONE who writes does so without thinking about getting published.  That’s the whole goal, right?

The thing is, whether it’s Y/A or Paranormal I’ve been thoroughly entertaining myself with these characters and ideas for about four years now.  I love the world that I’ve created and I think readers would too.

So, I’ve made the decision to write as myself to hold myself accountable to my own potential.  I owe it to MYSELF to get this written.

One thing I’ve never had is someone(s) there to bounce ideas off of as they come to me.  I’ll come up with a great idea and then get really indecisive about whether or not to move forward with it.  It doesn’t have to be someone local, just someone I can call or email and get serious feedback from.  If you’re interested in coming along for the ride please let me know!  Also, if you write and are looking for the something similar, maybe we can do like a writing partnership/group.

So, where’s the Faerie/Sanguine Frankenovel at now?  I'm most comfortable and excited with PNR so the Frankenovel is OFFICIALLY the first in a Paranormal Romance series.

Oh, and btw…welcome to FrankenMuse!  Thanks for stopping by!
